The Queen Victoria Memorial

The Queen Victoria Memorial commemorates the death of Queen Victoria in 1901 and is located at the front of Buckingham Palace.

Duke of York Statue

At the top of the Duke of York Steps, on the north side of The Mall, stands a bronze statue of the Duke of York, set on a 124ft column.

Guard's Memorial

Installed in memory of Guardsmen who died in World War I, the Guard’s Memorial was unveiled in 1926 by the Duke of Connaught, the uncle of King George V. After World War II an inscription was added to remember those who died between 1939 and 1945.

King George VI Memorial

This statue in memory of King George VI stands on the north west side of The Mall behind the Queen Mother memorial statue.

This national memorial to The Queen Mother stands next to the bronze statue of her husband, King George VI.

At the corner of The Mall and Horse Guards, stands the National Police Memorial, commemorating police officers killed in the course of duty in the UK.

Captain Cook Statue

This bronze statue, situated next to Admiralty Arch, commemorates the explorer and navigator, Captain James Cook (1728-79).

South African Royal Artillery Memorial

This bronze memorial is dedicated to members of the Royal Artillery killed in the Boer War in southern Africa 1899-1902.

Boy Statue

Located opposite Queen Anne’s Gate on Birdcage Walk, the Boy Statue depicts a seated boy on a marble plinth, and was originally used as a drinking fountain.

Graspan Royal Marines Memorial

Next to Admiralty Arch, on The Mall, stands this memorial dedicated to the Royal Marines. It dates back to 1903 but was located at this position in 1948.

Royal Naval Division Memorial

At the north west corner of Horse Guards Parade, next to Old Admiralty Buildings, stands the Royal Naval Division Memorial dedicated to 45,000 members of the Royal Naval Division who died during World War I. It was unveiled in 1925 by Winston Churchill.

Bali Memorial

This marble globe commemorates victims of the Bali bombings in 2002, and is situated at Clive Steps along Horse Guards Road.
